Building bridges – Fostering Collaborations Across TCPs and Tasks

On September 2nd, IEA Bioenergy Technology Collaboration Programme Task 36 (Material and Energy Valorization of Waste in a Circular Economy) hosted a networking session in Gothenburg, and I had the pleasure of helping guide the conversation.

The goal? To explore how we can strengthen collaboration across Tasks in IEA Bioenergy Technology Collaboration Programme and in Industrial Energy-Related Technologies and Systems (IETS TCP).

We had a dynamic agenda with short presentations from colleagues working on waste valorization, carbon value chains, net-zero industrial processes, and biorefineries. One clear takeaway: carbon management could be a strong common thread to connect our efforts and spark new joint initiatives.

Thanks to everyone who joined and contributed — your openness and ideas made the session truly valuable!

Participants:

Eric van den Heuvel, technical coordinator at IEA Bioenergy

Michael Becidan, Giovanni Ciceri, Konstantinos Chandolias, @Satya Narra and Mar Edo Giménez  – IEA Bioenergy Task 36: Material & energy valorization of waste in a circular economy

Sebnem Yilmaz Balaman IETS Task XI: Industry-based biorefineries towards sustainability

Karin Pettersson, – IEA Bioenergy Task 40: Deployment of biogenic value chains and carbon management and IEA Bioenergy Intertask project BECCUS 3.0
