BioSOLfarm Conference, Rietavas, Lithuania 16 – 18 June 2026

The conference was held at the Rietavas Tourism and Business Information Centre as part of the Interreg South Baltic Programme 2021–2027. The conference combined policy discussion with a presentation of the project’s results from across Germany, Lithuania, and Poland.

The conference focused mainly on EU Green Deal Policy. The conference also demonstrated the enhancement of the policy through the BioSOLfarm project in the region by empowering farmers, resulting in the implementation of hybrid renewable energy sources (solar, wind, and bioenergy) based on the requirement results achieved under the project. A special toolbox has been developed tand presented to ease the decision process on location-based renewable energies implementation, specifically based on the farmers’ current and future requirements. The toolbox will be made available online for all the farmers in the next few months (Oct 2026).

Ahead of the conference, conference participants visited local farms that have integrated solar power into their operations during the project based on the suggestions from the toolbox, including ground-mounted photovoltaic installations supplying on-site energy needs, giving participants a first-hand view of the technologies discussed during the event.
