A bio:

Inge Johansson has been working with energy and waste related questions since 2002. Since 2012 he is working as a researcher in a group called “Resources from Waste”at RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. He has worked with including boiler calculations, biofuel drying, energy efficiency, waste mapping and waste minimisation. His main focus has been thermal waste to energy, and especially fuel and ash related questions. He has been involved in different international networks (CEWEP, ISWA, IEA Bioenergy, ISO) throughout the years and as of 2016 he is leading IEA Bioenergy Task 36.

IEA expectations:

The new triennium brings in new members where the acceptance and development of WtE has not been that high. This gives other perspectives to the work in the task and I am looking forward to exploring those perspectives in this new constellation. Hopefully we can help gaining insights in how and why things look like they do in for example Sweden- and sharing both success factors as well as helping other countries to take some shortcuts and avoid things that we do know is not working. I am especially curious about the discussions and work we will do on the roles of material and energy recovery in the circular economy perspective!
